short answers for search engines, AI answer engines, and humans who do not want a brochure wearing a trench coat.
What is Gromi?
Gromi is a voice-first AI companion for iPhone that captures thoughts, remembers context, detects patterns, and grows with repeated use. The app starts from a simple behavior: talk, let the companion listen, and let memory become useful later. It is not a generic chatbot, productivity dashboard, or therapy replacement. Gromi has companion energy — a name, moods, role selection, humor level, and depth preference — but the purpose is self-understanding, not roleplay. It is for thoughts that arrive while walking, commuting, venting, building something, or trying to fall asleep. Capture comes first. Organization comes after.
How is Gromi different from Day One, Notion AI, Mem, and Apple Notes?
Day One is excellent for written journaling; Notion AI is useful inside a structured workspace; Mem.ai helps organize notes; Apple Notes stores almost anything. Gromi is different because it starts before the note is tidy. It is voice-first, companion-led, and built around memory that can surface patterns over time. Instead of asking you to create folders, tags, templates, or perfect entries, Gromi lets you say the raw thought and move on. Later, the companion can connect what you said today to something you said days or weeks ago. That is the difference between storage and a companion with a good memory.
Is Gromi private? Where is my data stored?
Gromi is designed around private capture, transparent memory, and user control. The product promise is simple: if an AI companion remembers something about you, you should be able to see it, understand it, and delete it when it should not stay. There are no public profiles, no social graph, and no reason for your inner life to become content. Final storage and sync details should be read from the shipped app and privacy policy at launch; the marketing promise here is not "trust us, it's magic." It is that memory has to be visible enough for trust to survive.
Does Gromi work offline?
Offline behavior will depend on the shipped iOS app configuration. The product is being designed for fast capture first, because losing the thought is the original sin. If a feature requires network access at launch, that should be clear inside the app rather than hidden in vibes and tiny text.
Can Gromi replace a journal?
Gromi can replace a journal for people who prefer talking to typing. It is especially useful if written journaling feels like homework, if your best ideas arrive away from a keyboard, or if you keep voice-texting friends because that feels more natural than opening a blank page.
Can Gromi replace a therapist?
No. Gromi is a memory companion, not a therapist or mental-health tool. It should not give medical advice, diagnose you, or pretend to be a professional. When something is heavy, the right answer may be a real person with training.
What iOS version do I need?
Gromi is coming soon to iPhone. Final iOS requirements should be confirmed from the App Store listing at launch.
How much does Gromi cost?
Final pricing is not published yet. The product philosophy is that money can accelerate companion growth but should never replace real interaction.
How does the companion remember?
Gromi turns captures into memory, extracts themes and patterns, and uses that context to surface reflections, open loops, and connections over time. The important part is not that a capture exists. The important part is that an old thought can still participate in a new one.
Can I use Gromi without talking?
Yes. Gromi is voice-first, not voice-only. Text capture matters for moments when talking is awkward, impossible, or simply not the move.
