Gromi Terms of Use
Last updated: 4 October 2026
1. Who we are and what this is
These Terms govern your use of the Gromi iOS app and the services behind it (the "Service"). The Service is provided by BYGEN AI Kft. (VAT 32746763-2-04, seat 5600 Békéscsaba, Lázár utca 3, Hungary) ("Gromi", "we", "us").
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
2. Who can use Gromi
You must be at least 16 years old. If you're under the age of majority where you live, you may use Gromi only with a parent's or guardian's permission. Gromi is available only through the App Store in the countries where we offer it.
3. Your account
You sign in with Apple. We never see your Apple ID password. You're responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your iPhone and Apple ID secure.
You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete account. What deletion removes is described in the Privacy Policy.
4. What Gromi is
Gromi is a companion app with an AI character. You can chat with Gromi in writing or by voice, show it photos, keep a list of tasks and reminders, mirror those tasks to a calendar, run a focus timer, and let Gromi remember things between conversations.
Your conversations, tasks and memories are stored on your iPhone, not on our servers. To answer you, the Service sends what the answer needs to AI model providers at the moment you ask. The Privacy Policy explains exactly what goes where.
Gromi is an AI companion: using it needs your agreement on the AI consent screen, and its AI needs an internet connection. Once you've agreed, what's already on your iPhone, like your task list and the focus timer, works without a connection.
5. Gromi is an AI, and has limits
Gromi is not a person. Everything Gromi says is written by AI models. It is not reviewed by anyone before you see it.
- It can be wrong. Answers may be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. Use your own judgment for anything that matters, and check important facts elsewhere.
- It is not professional advice. Nothing Gromi says is medical, psychological, legal, financial or other professional advice, and Gromi is not a therapist or counsellor.
- It is not an emergency or crisis service. Gromi can't call anyone or send help. If you're thinking about suicide or self-harm, call or text 988, or text HOME to 741741. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911. Our crisis protocol is published at gromi.me/safety.
- Companion chatbots may not be suitable for some minors.
6. Subscriptions
Gromi is free to download. If we offer paid subscriptions, they are sold and billed by Apple through the App Store, and these rules apply:
- Billing and renewal: payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, at the then-current price, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends.
- Cancelling: open the App Store, tap your profile, then Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for. Deleting the app or your Gromi account does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds: these are handled by Apple under Apple's policies, at reportaproblem.apple.com. We can't issue them ourselves.
- Free trials: if we offer one, it becomes a paid subscription when it ends, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before.
- Price changes: we'll tell you in advance, and Apple asks for your agreement where the law or Apple's rules require it.
7. Your content
What you write, say and show Gromi, and the tasks and notes you create, are yours.
You give us a limited licence to process your content only to provide the Service to you. That means sending the parts an answer needs to our AI providers, and returning the answer to your iPhone. We don't sell your content, don't use it to advertise to you, and don't use it to train AI models. The licence ends when the processing ends; nothing is kept on our servers.
You're responsible for your content. Don't share other people's personal information, voice or images with Gromi unless you have the right to.
8. Acceptable use
Don't use the Service to:
- break the law, or harm, harass, threaten or deceive anyone;
- create or share content that sexualises minors, promotes violence, or is otherwise unlawful;
- try to get around the Service's safety measures, extract its instructions, or make it produce harmful content;
- access the Service by automated means, overload it, probe or attack it, or reverse-engineer it except where the law allows;
- resell the Service, or use it to build a competing product.
We may limit or suspend access that breaks these rules. See section 13.
9. Calendars and other services
If you connect Google Calendar or the iPhone's calendar, Gromi reads your calendar to give answers context. It writes only to the calendar Gromi creates for its own tasks. Events Gromi added stay in that calendar if you disconnect or delete your account. Google's and Apple's own terms apply to their services, and we're not responsible for them.
The Service relies on third parties, including Apple, Google, OpenRouter and the AI model providers it routes to, OpenAI, and our hosting provider Railway. We choose them carefully but aren't responsible for their acts or omissions beyond what the law requires.
10. Availability and changes
We provide the Service "as is" and "as available". We may change, suspend or stop features, for example for maintenance, security or because a provider changes. We'll try to give notice of significant changes. Because your data lives on your iPhone, local features keep working even when ours don't.
11. Intellectual property
The app, its design, the Gromi character, its artwork and our software belong to us or our licensors. These Terms give you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, in line with the App Store's Usage Rules. You may not use our name, logo or character without our written permission.
12. Disclaimers and limits of liability
To the extent the law allows:
- we disclaim all warranties that aren't stated in these Terms, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement;
- we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits or goodwill;
- our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) what you paid for the Service in the three months before the claim, or (b) €50.
Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have as a consumer that the law doesn't allow us to exclude.
13. Suspension and termination
You can stop using Gromi and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, if we must by law, or to protect the Service or other people. Where it's reasonable, we'll tell you why first and give you a chance to fix it.
Sections 5, 7, 11, 12, 14 and 16 survive termination.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Hungary. If you're a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring claims in your local courts. Please contact us first at info@bygen-ai.com. Most problems are solved faster that way.
15. Apple
These Terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it, and is not responsible for any claims relating to it, including product liability, legal compliance or intellectual-property claims.
If the app fails to conform to a warranty that applies, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any; Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
You confirm that you're not located in a country subject to a US embargo and that you're not on a US list of prohibited or restricted parties.
16. General
- Changes: we may update these Terms. For material changes, we'll give at least 14 days' notice in the app before they take effect; if you don't agree, you can delete your account before then.
- Severability and waiver: if a provision is unenforceable, the rest still applies, and not enforcing a right isn't a waiver of it.
- Assignment: we may transfer these Terms in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. You may not transfer them without our consent.
- Entire agreement: these Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service.
